MIRAMAR

Miramar Muhd is an Iraqi artist and muralist based in Amman. Born into an artistic family, she was constantly surrounded by art while growing up. Professionally, she has participated in multiple personal and collective exhibitions and painted several murals, inside and outside of Jordan.

In her teenage years she has acquired a profound love for visual art and forms of nonverbal expression. Through this passion, she aims to understand what it means to be female in a modern Arab society, and as a result, use painting as a form of response to injustice and gender-based discrimination.

Holding humanitarian beliefs at the forefront, Miramar’s primary employs murals as her medium, believing it brings fine art from museums and galleries into the street, delivering messages of social justice directly into the societies it revolves around.
